Deeply felt tears can be profoundly healing at any age. If we continually suppress crying, the shallower our lives can become. Tears can arrive when we are happy or sad. Throughout my nursing career I have witnessed patients crying and I have sometimes shed a tear with them. It is sad to me that I have heard many patients say "I'm sorry for crying.'' Tears are not inappropriate, embarrassing, or unwarranted and crying is actually good for you!! After a good cry, most people feel calmer and more resilient because their tears allow the release of stress hormones which is good because we do not want too many of them building up in our bodies. Releasing sad tears is a natural way for the body, mind and soul to walk through a period of loss or transition. Crying is a way to accept, surrender and submit to the reality of what we are feeling. Walking through what we are feeling is far more healthier than stifling our feelings.--Laurie's Intuitive
