Why do I create art? Creating art is a form of meditation for me. It has been for over 40 years. I watched my Dad create jewelry designs while talking to clients on the phone back in the 1960's growing up. He always had a pen in hand, and I used to love watching him draw. I was mesmerized with how he designed. My Dad was a toolmaker and would draw the design, make the mold, and produce great jewelry and many other various products. I have a box of his castings and I'm amazed at the detail he created. He designed a Bald Eagle belt buckle and many silver charm bracelets back then. His art was something on the side as a hobby as is mine. Maybe it is that mesmerizing process of watching him that I found so soothing and I'm sure it is part of why I create today.~Laurie
