Mushrooms! I grew up with grandparents who went ''mushrooming'' every fall and never divulged where their spot was to pick them. They were on a hunt for the ''Signorina'' I remember the process of helping them clean them. What a process. Then they would preserve them. They also used to pick little ''button mushrooms'' that my Grandmother would use in her Chicken Cacciatore! I wish I learned how to pick them...you have to know what you are doing as some are poisonous.
