One of my very first jobs was working in a family owned Pizza Parlor called "Julio's.'' I was a cashier, hostess and waitress for the Marcolivio family for about 3 years. It was there that I learned how to deal with the public and of course how to make pizza. As I look back now as a nurse for many years, I look back with such fondness of that first job and how we were treated as employees. Every year at Christmas, Mr. Marcolivio would take such pride with making a wonderful buffet for us with music and lots of dancing. You could feel the sentiment of a genuine appreciation for his employees. It was an atmosphere of fun and of kindness. I learned a few tricks of the trade with pizza making that I still do at home for my family. I have always made my own pizza dough and when my daughter was in kindergarten, I have a picture of her and her best friend standing on stools pressing dough into their own little personal pan pizzas.
